Without directly defending Quicktime, have either of you seen Windows Media Player 7?quote: The controls on the new 'finder' windows take up more space. Consider at a miniumum the Quicktime player. Quote: I've also noticed that Mac apps are no longer as sleek as they once were. (I can remove most of the buttons in Explorer and shrink them) It's one of the big things that really scare me about OSX - although I wish it the best. The controls on the new 'finder' windows take up more space. ![]() UI design and cleaness take a backseat to the initial 'gee whiz' appearance of the interface. (Neither did OLE objects either - but that's an other story)Now with OSX we have apps that aren't consistent with the interface. For a while I thought that OpenDoc would resolve this. Slowly the Mac became more 'clunky' and the PC sleeker. ![]() The interface took up more space than the 'document' I was working on. Every time I used Windows 3.1 apps or even early Win95 apps they had big, clunky buttons and interfaces. Macs had nice small minimalist interfaces. ![]() Rather than minimal controls that were easy to use and access we have giant buttons, lots of empty screen space filled with 'platinum metal' and so forth. It all reminds me of back when I was a Mac zealot. I've also noticed that Mac apps are no longer as sleek as they once were.
